Send bulk codes to a Klaviyo coupon

Connect Klaviyo, then send a Discount Genie bulk code job straight into a Klaviyo coupon, with optional auto-refill and codes that expire per shopper.

Updated 2 min read

Discount Genie can send the unique codes from a bulk job into a Klaviyo coupon, so your Klaviyo emails and SMS hand each customer their own code. Bulk codes need a paid plan.

Connect Klaviyo #

  1. In Discount Genie, click Settings.
  2. In Your active integrations, find Klaviyo Email/SMS Marketing and click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Klaviyo and accept all the permissions it asks for. If you decline one, the connection fails.
  4. Back in Discount Genie, the status reads Connected.

To stop syncing later, click Disconnect, then Disconnect Klaviyo. You can reconnect at any time.

Send a bulk code job to Klaviyo #

  1. Click Bulk code generator, then Create new bulk discount codes, and pick a discount type.
  2. Enter a Title. When you export to Klaviyo, the title can only contain letters, numbers and underscores.
  3. Under Code generation, choose Randomly generate codes (set Number of codes, Character length, an optional prefix and suffix) or Upload a CSV file.
  4. Under Code destination, choose Klaviyo. It shows Connected when your account is linked.
  5. Set up the discount itself below (value, products, customers), then click Save.

Discount Genie creates a Klaviyo coupon named after the discount's title and sends the codes. Use that coupon in your Klaviyo emails and SMS.

Tip

Name the job the way you want the coupon to appear in Klaviyo, for example VIP_WELCOME_15. A space or a dash blocks the export.

Check that the codes arrived #

The job shows its Klaviyo status: Klaviyo: Pending, Klaviyo: Syncing…, then Klaviyo: Synced ✓. Klaviyo can take up to about 20 minutes to confirm the codes. You don't need to wait on the page. To check sooner, click Verify now.

If you see Klaviyo: Sync failed, read the message on the job. It names the cause, for example a lost connection (click Reconnect Klaviyo) or a Klaviyo coupon that already has the same name.

Keep the coupon stocked #

  • Automatically refill codes when running low: set a Refill threshold (how many unclaimed codes trigger a refill) and a Refill amount (how many new codes to send each time). It's off by default.
  • Expire after a certain number of days/hours (under Active dates): each code stays valid for that window, counted from when the shopper receives it. Discount Genie creates a fresh wave of codes every hour or every day.
